CamoSuite for Law Firms

Protect Client Confidentiality

Fully Offline

Anonymize documents, transcribe and dictate, and convert files locally before AI access

Lawyers handle the most confidentiality-sensitive documents in professional practice: privileged work product, deposition recordings, deal terms, and client meetings.

CamoSuite enables you to anonymize documents before any AI sees them, transcribe depositions and voice memos privately, and convert files on your device.

How Lawyers Use CamoSuite

CamoSuite addresses the specific points in legal practice where sensitive client data intersects with modern AI productivity tools.

Contract and Deal Document Review

Before uploading agreements, term sheets, or due diligence documents to any AI service for analysis, use CamoText to strip party names, deal terms, and matter numbers and replace them with consistent hashed placeholders.

The AI receives structurally complete documents and uses those placeholders to analyze the document without ever seeing the actual sensitive data.

Deposition and Interview Transcription

Deposition videos and recorded client interviews contain highly sensitive information and background data. Use CamoConvert to extract the audio track locally, then CamoVoice to transcribe it entirely on-device.

No audio is uploaded to a third-party service, and metadata is stripped. The transcript can then be anonymized with CamoText and used for AI-assisted work.

Brief, Memo, and Correspondence Drafting

CamoVoice's global hotkey lets you dictate factual backgrounds, argument outlines, and research notes into any application — email, word processor, document management system, etc. — entirely offline.

When the text is ready for AI drafting assistance, CamoText strips identifying details before upload so the AI drafts from anonymized content.

After the AI drafts or refines the anonymized text, the attorney can use CamoText to reinsert the original terms and adjust the authoritative draft locally.

Agentic AI File Review (Claude, Copilot)

Agentic AI tools like Claude Cowork that operate directly on files require handing an AI agent full access to the files and their metadata.

CamoText lets you batch-anonymize a matter's documents into a clean, isolated folder with sensitive and identifying details replaced with hashed placeholders.

Provide access only to the isolated folder, and the agent works on anonymized files without ever seeing the original sensitive data.

The Problem With Cloud AI Tools

Cloud-based AI tools process and store inputs on their servers.

Zero data retention DPAs require negotiated expensive agreements.

Confidentiality and privilege risks raise serious concerns under ABA Model Rule 1.6.

What cloud AI tools access and retain

  • PII and other sensitive information in prompts and attached files
  • Document, audio, video, and other file metadata
  • Environment data, such as device ID, IP address, and user agent
  • Sensitive background details and biometric data from audio and video files
  • User session data and retention policies
  • Training data use policies that may vary by provider and plan (training on API traffic by default for major providers)

How CamoSuite helps preserve confidentiality, locally

  • Anonymize prompts and documents
  • Strip metadata from files
  • Privately convert files locally
  • Extract audio from deposition and interview video recordings
  • Transcribe voice memos and audio files
  • Dictate directly into any application
  • Batch-anonymize a matter's documents into a clean, isolated folder for use with AI agents

Privilege, confidentiality, and the third-party risk.

ABA Model Rule 1.6 requires lawyers to make reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized disclosure of client information.

ABA Model Rule 1.1 Comment 8 extends the duty of competence to understanding the benefits and risks of technology.

Several state bar ethics opinions have specifically addressed cloud AI tools, noting that uploading identifiable client information to a third-party AI service may constitute a disclosure of confidential information under Rule 1.6 and, in some fact patterns, a waiver of attorney-client privilege or work product protection.

The cleanest approach, consistent with guidance from bar associations including those of New York, California, and Florida, is ensuring client-identifiable information never reaches a third-party service in identifiable form.

CamoSuite's fully local architecture helps lawyers prevent identifiable client data from leaving their devices.

A Law Firm Workflow

From a deposition recording or matter document to an anonymized, AI-ready file — entirely offline, on your laptop.

01 — Dictate Use CamoVoice's global hotkey to dictate directly into any application: word processor, document management system, email draft. CamoVoice
02 — Convert Extract audio from video recordings. Auto-strip embedded metadata from files, convert to lighter formats. CamoConvert
03 — Transcribe Load audio into CamoVoice to transcribe on your machine. Export as a plain text file or formatted document. CamoVoice
04 — Anonymize Open a document or paste text in CamoText. PII and other data are replaced with structured tokens: <EMAIL_a3f7>, <CLIENT_c2b1>. Review and adjust output. CamoText
05 — AI Use Paste or load the anonymized, metadata-free text to any AI service for analysis, drafting, or review.

Example: Deposition Video to Anonymized Preparation Memo

A litigator has a video recording of a key witness deposition. The file is on their laptop; they need an AI-assisted summary and cross-examination outline before trial.

CamoConvert extracts the audio track from the video file locally and strips all embedded metadata. The cleaned audio is loaded into CamoVoice, which transcribes it using an on-device model. No audio is uploaded anywhere.

The transcript is opened in CamoText. The witness's name, the client's name, opposing counsel's firm, referenced URLs, and UUIDs are detected and replaced with structured tokens: <PERSON_a3f7>, <CLIENT_c2b1>, <ORGANIZATION_d9e4>, <EMAIL_a1f2>. The attorney reviews the output, manually anonymizes a proprietary product name the model missed, and exports the clean text. That anonymized transcript is uploaded to Claude or ChatGPT with a prompt requesting a summary and suggested cross-examination questions. The AI output references the same anonymous tokens; the attorney adjusts their own document or de-anonymizes the AI's output locally and incorporates it into trial preparation notes.

The AI model and service provider never saw PII, metadata, or other details highlighted by the attorney as sensitive.
